Another Strong Showing for the Marcham Brothers at I-44 Speedway

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 11, 2010) - Josh and Trey Marcham completed a busy weekend of racing with strong performances at I-44 Speedway last week. The weekend featured two full days of ASCS2 sanctioned competition on Friday and Saturday night, both of the Marcham brothers earned top-five finishes, including a win by Trey Marcham in Saturday's Local A-Class Feature.

Friday night kept Trey Marcham busy as he competed in the local A-Class, as well as the non-winged division. Trey Marcham, the reigning Limited and A-Class Champion, started in eighth position in the A-Class event and was able to fight his way to fourth position by lap 12. Unfortunately, luck was not on Trey's side as contact from behind took him out and relegated him to a 15th-place finish. In the non-winged division, Trey and his No. 32 car started in the 11th position. He brought his car through the field and moved in to the fifth position by the time the checkered flag waved.

Josh Marcham, the reigning Restricted Champion, also had a strong showing Friday night. Running in the A-class along with his brother, Josh started in the fifth position. After running in the top-five for the entire race, Josh took his No. 8 Car to a fourth-place finish.

Saturday night saw another strong showing for both of the Marcham brothers. Trey again ran in both the non-winged Class, as well as the A-Class while Josh competed in the A-Class.

Trey started the night competing in the non-winged division, where he took the green flag from the 11th position. With a fast car and smart driving, Trey moved his way through the field and was able to earn a top-five finish, by the time the checkered flag flew.

"I had a really fast car," remarked Trey. "We caught the third and fourth place cars on the last lap; I just ran out of time. If we had a few more laps, I think we could have passed a few more cars - we were flying through the field."

Both of the Marcham brothers competed in the featured A-Class Saturday night. Trey took the green flag from the eighth position while his brother Josh started one row behind in tenth. The race was a tale of two stories for the Marcham brothers. Josh had a strong showing throughout the race but had some bad luck on the last lap. While coming to the checkered in sixth position, Josh hit a rut on the track and was sent spinning. The spin relegated him to a 12th-place finish.

After starting eighth, Trey quickly moved into the top-five, where he ran for the first five laps of the race. With only ten laps to go, he brought his No. 23 car to third place. Still flying around the track, Trey took the lead with five laps to go and never looked back. Trey and his No. 23 car crossed the finish line in first place, beating 23 cars to the line.

The Marcham brothers will return to action next weekend at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
