Doggett Dominates En Route To Career-First Victory

Taylor DoggettMOORESVILLE, N.C (June 22, 2010)- Taylor Doggett dominated the field as he raced to his first victory Saturday in the NASCAR Limited Sportsman Division race at South Boston (Va.) Speedway. He captured the dramatic victory at his longtime home-track.

The Activ8 Development star started his third race of the season from the outside pole position. As the green flag waved, Doggett was ready to compete for the victory. He grabbed the lead from the pole sitter on the first lap coming out of turn two and didn't look back.

"We pulled away from then on out," said Doggett. "It was really special because we had a new first-time crew chief, Chris Hairfield. It was our first night together."

Doggett led every lap of the 50-lap feature on the .4-mile asphalt quad-oval.

The 17-year old, driving the No. 24 I'm Lovin' It Chevrolet, outran a hungry 11-car field to claim the win. Doggett and his DA Motorsports Chevrolet crossed the finish line to register his first-career triumph.

"It was a great day all over," added Doggett. "I could not thank everybody enough. It was just one of those feelings that it was coming, but you did not know when or where."

The Ruther Glen, Va., driver collected his first top trophy, as well as the first victory for the No. 24 DA Motorsports team.

"I definitely can relate to those guys who get their first win," said Doggett, reflecting on the win. "You jump out of the car with fists in the air as the adrenaline is pumping."

Doggett will return to the NASCAR Limited Sportsman Division at South Boston Speedway on Friday, July 2.
