Christian PaHud Returns to Victory Lane at Tri-County Motor Speedway

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 28, 2010) - Activ8 Development driver Christian PaHud returned to victory lane at Tri-County Motor Speedway on Friday, July 23 in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series limited late model race. This marked his fourth win, ninth top-five and 11th top-10 in 11 races at the Hudson, N.C., track this season.

The day did not start off well for PaHud and the Orion Motorsports team as the No. 63 had a clutch problem when they first arrived to the track. The team missed first practice while fixing the issue. This benefitted the team because they were able to watch other cars during practice, and helped the team determine changes were needed to tighten the car before the second practice session.

"During first practice we saw how loose everyone was," PaHud explained. "We made a change without even seeing how our car was going to drive. Then, we went out for the second practice and we were two-tenths faster than anybody on the racetrack."

PaHud continued to show how strong his car was, setting the fastest time in qualifying. He chose to start the race on the outside and immediately began pulling away from the field. The young driver built a substantial lead before the first and only caution of the race came out with 15 laps to go.

The No. 63 pulled away again on the restart, and PaHud never looked back. The 18-year-old went on to take the checkered flag, scoring his fourth win of the season.

"I chose to start on the outside both times, and we just took off," PaHud explained. "I was able to clear the 07 and the 77 coming off of two, and then I never saw them again. We just had a really good night. I've got to thank my team and my family for all their help. It was nice to be back in victory lane."

PaHud, who is fourth in the point standings at Tri-County Motor Speedway, has decided he will spend the rest of the season racing at various tracks in the southeast. He will begin by racing at Myrtle Beach Speedway this Saturday, July 31.

"I am really excited to go racing at the beach this weekend," said PaHud. "I raced at Myrtle Beach Speedway once last year, and I really liked it. I just love that place!"
