Josh and Trey Marcham Battle for Victory at I-44 Speedway
Josh earns first-career a-class victory with Trey right behind

MOORESVILLE, NC (August 25, 2010) - Josh and Trey Marcham returned to the track ready to get back to victory lane in a busy weekend of racing at I-44 Speedway. After bad luck plagued the brothers the past few weekends, they came to the track on Friday, August 20 and Saturday, August 21 looking for revenge in two days of back-to-back racing. Trey competed in both the ASCS2 sanctioned non-winged division as well as the Winged A-Class division while Josh looked for his first-career A-Class victory in his rookie season competing in the division.

Friday got off to a rocky start for Trey in the ASCS2 non-winged division. After starting from the 11th position, he began moving his way through the field until a lap three wreck brought his progress to a hault. As the leaders were battling for first position one of the drivers lost control of their car spinning right in front of Trey's No. 32 machine. With nowhere to go Trey got caught up in the wreck relegating him to a 14th-place finish.

Saturday's ASCS2 non-winged race brought a little more luck to Trey as he again had to battle through the field from his 12th-place starting position. With only 25 laps in the feature event his work was cut out for him. Trey climbed to the third position and was in a tight three-car battle for second, third and fourth for most of the race. Coming to the checkered flag the fourth place car got next to Trey's No. 32 and the two cars crossed the finish line side-by-side. Trey was scored with a fourth-place finish. The finish helped to secure his second-place standing in the ASCS2 championship standings.

Both Trey and Josh Marcham competed in the A-Class event Friday night. Standing second and third in the series points, Trey and Josh came into the weekend looking for strong finishes. Josh took the green flag for 25 laps of racing from the eighth position with his brother, Trey, starting a few spots behind in 13th. It didn't take long for Josh to move up as he used the high line at the start to pass three cars in the first turn. By lap five Josh had taken the lead with Trey knocking on his bumper. For the final 20 laps, Josh and Trey battled for the lead, but Trey could never get around his younger brother. Josh took the checkered flag, winning his first-career A-Class feature. Trey followed his brother across the finish line grabbing the second position.

"It felt great to win my first A-Class feature race," remarked Josh. "I was just ecstatic."

Saturday's A-Class event was filled with ups and downs for the Marcham brothers. Starting from the 10th position Josh was looking to earn a second-straight win while Trey had his work cut out for him with a 13th-place starting position. It didn't take long for things to get interesting as the red flag came out on lap two for a six-car wreck. Josh missed the pileup, but with nowhere to go Trey got caught in the wreck. He received damage to his front nose wing and top wing but was able to continue on. Forced to restart from the back of the field, Trey used the remaining 23 laps to climb to a fifth-place finish. Josh found some bad luck of his own as something happened to his motor during the red flag, impeding his chance for a back-to-back victory. Upon the restart Josh noticed that his motor was bogging down and did not have the horsepower it had before the red-flag condition. Josh was able to hold on to an eighth-place finish.

The Marcham brothers hold on to second and third in the A-Class championship point standings. They will take a week off before returning to action at Port City Raceway on September 3rd and 4th for the Labor Day Special.
